A simpler approach
to privacy.

You can read about the books and explore the articles without creating an account.

Search stays in your browser

The article search and topic filters run locally in your browser. This application does not send your search terms to a server.

Cookies and local preferences

The application does not set advertising cookies, use analytics scripts, or load third-party fonts. Fonts and book images are served with the site. The newsletter popup uses session storage to remember dismissal during the current browsing session. This preference does not identify you across websites.

The hosting provider may process connection information, including IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and secure the website. A private hosting preview may also require the host's sign-in process.

The weekly newsletter

When signups are open, the form asks for an email address and explicit consent to the weekly idea and occasional book news from Alexander Crespo. A confirmation email lets you verify the address before it joins the mailing list. While the form says “Signups open soon”, it does not accept or save addresses.

The signup service keeps a confirmation record containing the email address, signup source, consent wording version and relevant timestamps. It stores a hash of the confirmation token rather than the link itself. Unconfirmed requests expire after 24 hours and are removed when the service next handles requests. Confirmed consent records are retained to document the subscription until removed by the operator.

Once confirmed, your email address is sent to Resend to manage the newsletter list and deliver editions. You also receive one welcome email containing a practical idea selected from ten alternatives. The service records which idea was selected and the welcome delivery status to avoid sending it twice. Resend also processes the address to send the initial confirmation email. Newsletter messages include an unsubscribe link. The welcome link uses an opaque token and opens a confirmation page; compatible email clients can also submit a one-click unsubscribe. The service records the unsubscribe and updates your Resend contact. Unsubscribe links in weekly editions are managed by Resend. A previously recorded unsubscribe is not overridden by reusing an old confirmation link.

To limit automated abuse, the signup service temporarily stores a hashed representation of the source IP address. These anti-abuse records are removed after 24 hours when the service next handles requests. Your email address is not sent to an analytics service.
